ANDREI MAIOREANU: THE ENERGY STRATEGY WILL MENTION THE MAJOR INVESTMENT PROJECTS OF NATIONAL INTEREST
The final form of the national energy strategy will mention several investment projects, among which the 600 MW of Rovinari and the new Cernavoda nuclear reactors, the state secretary in the Ministry of EnergyAndrei Maioreanu announced in the Keynote Speech opening 5th edition of the energynomics AwardsGala. The official reaffirmed the basic principles for the development of the Romanian energy sector, including interconnection with neighboring markets, ensuring competition in the energy markets and increasing Romania’s contribution to the regional and European markets by capitalizing on the national primary energy resources.
ROMELECTRO ESTIMATES 80 MLN. EURO WORTH OF SALES FOR THIS YEAR
Romelectro, the largest contractor of complex energy projects in Romania, will soon sign more than 20 million euros worth contracts with Transelectrica for the power stations in Focsani Sud, Bacau Sud and Roman Nord, as well as with Hidroelectrica, for the modernization of the Slatina hydro power plant, Cristian Secoşan, general manager of the Romelectro Group, announced in a press conference.

Alro S.A. announced the completion of new $3.4 million in investments in the areas of energy efficiency, competitiveness and upgrading of production lines in the primary aluminum sector.
TRANSGAZ SIGNED THE EXECUTION CONTRACTS FOR 479 KILOMETERS OF THE BRUA PIPELINE
Transgaz, the natural gas Transmission System Operator in Romania, signed three contracts for 479 kilometers of the BRUA pipeline, Phase 1, from Podişor (Constanţa county), to Recaş (Timiş county). The value of the contracts, according to the SEAP participation announcement, is 1.28 billion lei, excluding VAT.
EBRD BECOME A MINORITY SHAREHOLDER IN THE BLACK SEA OIL & GAS
Black Sea Oil & Gas SRL (“BSOG”), currently backed by The Carlyle Group, announced that the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (“EBRD”) has become a minority shareholder in the company. EBRD will receive one board seat as part of the investment.
NEW AND PROVISIONAL BOARD OF DIRECTORS FOR CONPET
The Energy Ministry has appointed seven interim administrators on the Board of Conpet, the national crude oil carrier in Romania, with a four-month mandate or less, if the selection procedure according to GEO 109/2011 ends sooner. Liviu Ilaşi, the current general manager, whose term ends on December 6, is no longer among the administrators.
OIL TERMINAL APPOINTS TODAY NEW MANAGEMENT BOARD
Oil Terminal Constanta, operator of the state-own oil terminal at the Black Sea, will appoint, within the General Shareholders Meeting today, November 24, the new members of the Board of Directors by the cumulative vote method. According to the company’s website, there are currently nine CA candidates.

PETCU: THE ROMPETROL MEMORANDUM WILL NOT BE EXTENDED, DEBT PAYMENT IS DEMANDED
The Ministry of Energy will not extend the memorandum with KazMunaiGaz, the owner of Rompetrol, approved by Government decision in 2014, and the company will have to pay its debt to the state in order to prove its good faith, Toma Petcu said on Thursday, during the hearings in the parliamentary commission of inquiry on the activity of ANRE. “When I took over the mandate (January 2017 – e.n.), the MoU was to expire in the third month. I extended it for six months, until the ninth month, and I thought six months would be enough to complete the negotiations. I think that in February I wrote both DNA and DIICOT, we asked for information on the files in which Rompetrol companies are investigated, in order to clarify very clearly what is the stage, what are the culprits. I got responses from these institutions, and I considered that they are not very clear, so I have submitted a file to the CSAT, “the minister said, quoted by Agerpres.
ENEL LAUNCHES FIRST EV CHARGING STATION IN TIMISOARA AIRPORT
Enel Energie and the Traian Vuia Airport in Timisoara inaugurated the first electric vehicle charging station in an airport in Romania, in order to encourage electric mobility and a lower carbon footprint of the transport industry.
