THE MAJOR OBJECTIVE OF CONPET IS REGIONAL INTERCONNECTION WITH EU MEMBER STATES
Conpet, the National Transport System Operator (NTS) through oil pipelines of oil, condensate and gasoline, represents Romania at the World Petroleum Congress, which takes place between July 9 and July 13, in Turkey. The official delegation of Romania is led by the Secretary of State at the Ministry of Energy, Iulian-Robert Tudorache and it includes Liviu Ilasi, general manager and member of the board of directors of the company.
E.ON AND MOL TO BUILD 40 CHARGING STATIONS FOR ELECTRIC VEHICLES IN ROMANIA
In three years time Romania will have 40 new charging stations for electric vehicles in place thanks to the NEXT-E project, funded by the EU. The stations will be built by the energy supplier E.ON Romania and Hungarian group MOL.

OLTCHIM BUYS NATURAL GAS WORTH 7 MLN. EURO FROM ROMGAZ
Oltchim Ramnicu Valcea, which has declared insolvency, has acquired gas from Romgaz through a contract worth 33.15 million lei (about 7.3 million euro), one of the two largest gas producers in Romania for the July 1st 2017 June 30th, 2018 period, says a release of Romgaz.
ROMANIA BECAME A NET EXPORTER OF POWER, AS DOMESTIC DEMAND DROPPED
Romania’s electricity consumption decreased in the first five months of 2017 by 1,9%, over the same period in 2016, at 22,92 terawatt hours (TWh), amid the decrease of demand in all sectors, according to data released on Wednesday by the National Institute of Statistics (INS). After the first four months of this year, there was a 3% decrease in electricity consumption.
CHIRITOIU: THERE SHOULD BE A COMPENSATION MECHANISM FOR BRM
Moving the gas ring from the Romanian Commodities Exchange (BRM) to the OPCOM market should imply a compensation mechanism, Bogdan Chiriţoiu, the president of the Competition Council, says. “We agreed to have a single electricity exchange to concentrate the liquidity,” says Chiriţoiu, explaining that gas markets can not do the same, as both markets are functional.
AGRI PROJECT WILL CONTINUE WITH EU MONEY – TUDORACHE
The Ministry of Energy will ask for the inclusion of the AGRI gas interconnector on the list of projects of common interest, so that this project can benefit from European funds, said Robert Tudorache, State Secretary at the Ministry of Energy.

ROMANIA, IN INFRINGEMENT IF DOES NOT HALVE THE WASTE DEPOSITS
Romania could enter the procedure of infringement for not reducing the amount of waste by 50% until 2020, which will result in penalties up to €200,000 per day in 2021, while the taxation at the pit of 80 lei per tonne of waste has been suspended by the Government until 2019, says the Coalition for Circular Economy of Romania.
