PROVINCE OF VOJVODINA ENCOURAGES PUBLIC INSTITUTIONS TO SWITCH TO BIOMASS FOR HEATING
The Autonomous Province of Vojvodina has published a call for co-financing of biomass heating projects in the public buildings in this province in northern Serbia.

CITY OF BELGRADE READY FOR MAJOR ENERGY EFFICIENCY REFURBISHMENT PROJECT
City of Belgrade Energy Secretary Marko Stojanović spoke to Balkan Green Energy News about the concept and the mechanisms of the newly-formed city’s Energy Efficiency Fund which will be as of next year also available to private citizens to upgrade the energy efficiency of their buildings. This is a revolving fund which is now being financed from the budget with plans to secure funding from international financial institutions and from commercial banks at some later date. The basic idea is for the City to be the partner and guarantee of all financial and other obligations while city residents would repay invested funds through their communal services bills with no interest over a period of several years.
SENVION CLOSES FINANCIAL DEAL TO SUPPLY TURBINES TO ELICIO’S WIND FARM IN SERBIA
Senvion, German manufacturer of wind turbines, has closed financial contract to supply turbines to Elicio NV’s 42 MW Alibunar wind farm in Serbia. This would be the first Senvion’s project in Serbia, the company said.

The “ENERGY WEEK – Nedelja energije” will be organized for the first time in Serbia as a part of EU Sustainable Energy Week, an initiative of the European Commission taking place across European continent. EPS CALLS SECOND TENDER TO RECONSTRUCT SMALL HYDROPOWER PLANTS
The Serbian Electric Power Industry (EPS) has called the second tender for the rehabilitation of seven more small hydropower plants (SHPPs) in Serbia. The EPS invited companies from across the world to submit sealed offers for the work on the plants.
